How to make pumpkin spice polymer clay Well here’s a mini tutorial for you all! I recently made a pumpkin spice dragon for the #purecollab I’m a part of on Instagram, and I thought it would be fun to break it down for you. It’s not anything complicated, but the fun part was adding in spices to give it a more realistic look. So without further ado, here’s the recipe I came up with for pumpkin spice polymer clay.

Supplies:

  • Yellow, red, brown, and white polymer clays
  • Cinnamon

Step 1: Mix your shade

First, you’ll want to mix your ideal pumpkin spice color. I used red and yellow to mix up and orange, but you can start with orange polymer clay as well. Once that’s taken care of, add white to lighten it up. Use reference images or experiment to get your ideal shade.

Step 2: Add cinnamon

If you take a look at pumpkin spice things, they’re a little grainy and have bits of dark spots from the spices. I achieved this in my clay by mixing in a little cinnamon once the color was mixed up. I was worried the cinnamon would be too fine and perhaps color the clay like chalk pastels, but I’m happy to report that it did not seem to affect the color and the granules were big enough to show up. The easiest way for me to mix in the cinnamon was to pour out a small amount into a bowl and dab the clay into it. Please keep in mind that the bowl should be one that is never used for food and any remaining cinnamon should either be saved for future nonedible crafts or thrown away. I was tempted to add in much more cinnamon than I really needed, so I just made sure I was only mixing enough to be well distribution in the clay.
And that’s it! Two steps to mix up a fun blend of polymer clay. Here’s how I ended up using this pumpkin spice clay mix! Have you made any pumpkin spice creations?
