I bring you this unscheduled post to let you know that the Pure Art Collab now has its own Instagram account. Are you a creator who would like a casual prompt challenge to help spark those creative juices? Then the Pure Art Collab may be a community for you!
Pure Art Collab started as what was going to be a one-time collaboration event. The overall theme was Disney inspired princesses, and we began this four week challenge last September under #princessartcollab. You can read more about that journey in this blog post.
When cofounder @amotherofdragoneggs asked about setting up something a little more permanent while retaining the more laid back nature of the challenge, I thought it would be a fun opportunity to cohost a community that also fit well with my own needs as a creator.
While I need time to create for customs, art shows, and for my own amusement, having a set of themes every other month also provides me the opportunity to step out of my own comfort zone and try new things without feeling completely overwhelmed. I find themes to be an extremely powerful and exciting tool to create from, and I absolutely love seeing other people’s interpretation of that theme.
As we approach our fifth round of themes, we thought it was time to break this out of our personal accounts and create a dedicated account to more actively engage the community, with the goal of spreading the word to other creatives. I’d love to see this become a space where you can contribute theme ideas freely and have it be a space where you feel a part of.
